Six Flags Great Adventure

USA 2014 Blog Day 22

Good afternoon everyone. Well sadly this is the last day of the tour and our last blog! Well after a 2 hour drive from our hotel in Pennsylvania this morning, we arrived at our final park Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey in time for opening at 10:30am. We were only popping in for 4 hours to ride a couple of the coaters (not enough time do to the whole park) but it was great to be able to go there on the way to the airport just for a final coaster fix!

The biggest ride in the park, Kingda Ka (larger version of Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point) is actually down at the moment whilst they put the finishing touches to a giant drop ride that they have installed in the middle of the tower, so unfortunately won’t be able to ride it, but we have ridden it before so not an issue. We were able to get 3 rides on El Torro (getting slightly rougher on the return run, 1 ride on Bizarro which is riding just fine, and our final ride on Nitro which had the largest queue at 50 minutes – but still our favourite ride in the park and always rides just perfect.

It was very hot and humid in the park and nowhere to shade, but fortunately we have a change of clothes for the flight home. We are feeling completely knackered and in some serious need of sleep, but it has been absolutely worth every minute as we’ve had such a great time and can’t wait to do it all again.

We are now heading back to Newark airport but have stopped off at Applebee’s for a nice meal before we board. Our flight is at 7pm and taking into account the length of the flight and the time difference we aim to get back home around mid-day on Thursday, which also happens to be my sister’s birthday – Happy Birthday Linda and hope you have a great day!

We would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has read the blog, as it’s always nice to know that people back home are following the trip especially when we’re up late in the hotel room typing it out. We hope you have enjoyed the read and had a good laugh at some of the photos!

I would also like to say a special thanks to Adrian for all his hard work and organisation as this trip wouldn’t have happened without him, and for also driving us around safely for 3 weeks across the states without a hitch.

Well that’s all folks until the next trip ... and look forward to seeing you all soon xx
